Calculating Your Correct Seat Height
- A basic formula to determine the correct seat height is to first measure your work surface height. Another consideration is whether you want to place your legs under the counter top. If you have a thin counter top, then measure from the floor to the top of counter top minus approximately 12 inches. The resulting measurement is usually the suggested seat height.
- If you have drawers under your counter or a thick 4" to 6" counter top, then you should still allow about 12" for your legs but measure from the bottom of the counter to the seat height. This should allow for sufficient room for your legs to fit underneath your counter top.
- The stools shown below have a seat height range of about 5 inches. Usually this will allow you to adjust the seat height to accomodate your particular needs. If you do not see a stool with the correct seat height range for your needs, then call us. We have other seat height ranges to meet your needs. The stools listed below are the most common seat height ranges we sell.
