• Introducing our side extending hospital sleeper unit:  It's attractive, durable and easy to open and close. The sofa is designed to seat 2 people up to 350 lbs. each in the closed position. The weight capacity of the unit in the open sleeper position is 350 lbs.
  
  
• Deemed to be more appropriate in some hospitals, side extending sleeper units are growing in popularity.
  
  
• It is typically positioned next to a wall.  It is used as a 60" long sofa during the day.  Then at night, the sofa quickly converts into a comfortable 80" long sleeper unit. In the sleeper position, the unit extends along the wall instead of into limited center floor space.
  
  
• This sleeper unit is built with a sliding platform that extends from either end as specified by the hospital. The sliding platform slides in and out like a match box with the inner unit sliding on a rigid urethane "track" for ease of opening and closing. The sliding arm section with casters makes it very easy to move the extending platform.
  
  
• Everyone wants well built, durable products. The engineered wood design together with the fact that there are few moving parts means this unit will continue to perform well in acute care environments. It has a 15 year track record of solid performance.
  
  
• The two bolster cushions are placed on the extended platform for leg and foot support. The compression and density of the seat and back cushions is the same.
  
  
• Constructed with a ¾" engineered wood for lasting durability and comfort.
  
  
• Deck and skirts are also ¾" engineered wood and are foam wrapped with ¼" and ½" 55 lb. fire-retardant foam.
  
  
• Available in a variety of Boltaflex and other stain, mildew and bacteria resistant vinyl colors.
